NGC 7023 The Iris Nebula

 

The Iris Nebula, also known as NGC 7023 is a bright reflection nebula in the constellation Cepheus.  Actually NGC 7023 is the star cluster within the nebula, and the star SAO 19158, at a magnitude of +7, is what has brought out the magnificent blue color and lit nebula. The Iris Nebula is about  1,300 light years away and is and is about 6 light years across.
