Here are some images of M51 that I have been working on. I have been trying to match the colors of some well know images in which M51 appears to be a very blue color and red globs around the perimeter where it is theorized that stars are born. I think I have been able to get the calibration of the images right but it is obvious that I still need to learn more about image processing, and especially color balance and saturation. All of these images are from the same data as I worked to try and match my vision of the object, when I came to a stumbling block I would save the image and start all over with the process.
